Riding the TrestleThe bike trip takes the students to fascinating places where history and industry have collided. A favourite destination includes the trestles of the Kettle Valley Railway.

The Kettle Valley is a bike trip filled with wonder as the students ride over the rails and journey over times gone by.  Imaginations are stimulated as students visualize the awesome engineering feats that are the 'wooden trestles' and one can almost hear the ghostly 'puff, puffing' and clattering of the locomotives as their heavy iron wheels jostle along the tracks. Toot, Toot!

Students even wonder what it was like even before industry invaded the pristince landscape, 'There was a time in this fair land when the railroads did not run.' - Gordon Lightfoot, The Canadian Railroad Trilogy.
